Did you know: *That date rape drugs are odorless and tasteless? *That 80% of sexual assaults are committed by someone you already know? *That Alcohol is a major factor of campus rape? *That between 20 to 25% of college women have been a victim of rape or attempted rape? *That the FBI estimates that 10% of men are victims of sexual assault? Date rape is sadly known to more women then we would like to know.Think about getting some personal alarms or pepper spray. A lot of assaults have never been reported. For the reason we can't remember or we blame ourselves for the way we dress or think we caused them to come on to us. Alot of the time we know the guy we have either seen him around or is a friend of ours. Now you're at a party and somewhere somehow things take a turn you never saw comming. You never remember anything about what happened last night. Your feeling sick and you have no idea where you are or how you got their. The last thing you remember is that you were having a nice time but that is even cloudy to you. Looking around you see your bra is on the other side of the room. You are the victim if you said NO then that means NO. It's important to not take a shower, go to the bathroom (if you do put urine in a small cup so they can test it. I know this is so hard and you're not even that clear what happened, so how can you tell the police. First call a friend We all have a good friend that will help when we need it most. To the attacker know that Date Rape is a crime you will be arested and charged. Things you need to know today: *Don"t let alcohol be the source of having a good time, You can have fun without it even though you don't think so now. * Don"t ever let someone else get your drinks for you (no matter how nice looking he is) *Remember that date rape drugs can be put in coffee or soda, *When making plans for a date go out in the daylight, you are more aware of things around you, *Know some of the signs to look out for when choose a date: Is he a little controlling Will he get mad if you say I will get my own drink Thank you Watch out for the guy that tries to push you to hard to hook up with you. * Aways make sure the designated driver knows that who they bring to the party they take home. Carry a personal alarm or pepper spray, some kind of protection with you all the times. Don"t wait for something to happen before you protect yourselfs. They make some that no one would know that your lipstick is a pepper spray or that the ring you have on your finger is a pepper spray and could save you life.
