If you're the average person on a diet, then you've
experienced times where you fall off the diet wagon and
succumb to the many temptations in your daily life. It's all
too easy to be tempted by advertisements of the juicy
hamburgers so perfectly put together and just waiting for
you to order them.

Unfortunately, those ads can sabotage us when we're trying
to stick to our diets. One effective advertisement and you
can cost yourself too many calories or fat for the day, but
more important is the mental damage it does when you decide
to give up your whole diet just because you had one bad day

It may seem like the only answer to this situation is to
stay away from fast food and not watch television
commercials for the rest of your life, but that's not
realistic. There are some other ways to keep your willpower
intact when you do go to places that have tempting images of
diet-killing foods.

By remembering that the ads are designed to sway and tempt
you to splurge, the food never tastes quite as good as it
looks. Who enjoys a lukewarm, smashed up burger with a bun
that is soaked in grease? Somehow it just kind of kills the
desire to gorge myself on fast food.

Don't be afraid to order your food the way you prefer it.
After all you have gone to the trouble to load up in the
car, drive to the restaurant and you should be able to get
the food you want, you are the customer afterall.

If you want to give your diet a chance, you have to order
the food and take it home. Getting away from the fast food
environment and go home and eat. Doing so is just one way
to ensure you are only going to eat a certain amount of fast
food and that's it.

If you use the drive through, you aren't in the midst of
the sights, sounds and most importantly the "smells" of a
fast food place. We know it's impossible to pass up fries,
so we use the drive through and drive on home and away from
the fries.

When you order food to be delivered to your home, this can
be to your advantage. You pick what you want, you don't
have to be tempted with seeing other pictures of food on the
menu, thereby maybe avoiding the trap called over eating.

If we can take little extra precautions we may avoid
putting yourself in a position in which we could be tempted
to cheat. It's not easy to ignore all the food and goodies
that we see thrown at us on a daily basis. It's hard to be
on a diet, but the all the hard work is worth it when you
stick to your plan.
