People with specific health problems may undergo therapies. Therapy is more or less a mix of the medical definitions of “treatment,” “prevention,” and “cure.” Therapy can be best described as an attempt to prevent a certain disease from getting worse.

Cancer is an example of a popular disease that requires a patient to undergo a series of therapies called “Chemotherapy.” Usually done through administration of chemotherapeutic drugs, radiation therapy, and surgery, Chemotherapy may enact a cure to only some types of cancers, not all..

Patients with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) also undergo some treatments. There is no cure for AIDS, but treatments are administered to slow down the harm of the HIV virus and delay fatalities. A patient with AIDS may undergo antiviral therapies involving the use of Antiretroviral drugs..

Another form of therapy is the Physical therapy. People threatened by injury, aging, and diseases are the ones who commonly undergo this type of therapy. Physical Therapy may specialize in cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, orthopedic, pediatrics, and neurologic. It is usually done with the use of general rehabilitation facilities and sports training facilities.
