We all hear about how many people are making that big fortune online. You ask yourself, how are they doing this? One reliable way that some people are able to make money online is using Google Adsense. This program allows you to add sponsored advertisments on your website. Let me explain. Have you ever gone to a website and seen those ads on the page that say "Google Ads"? Well those are the sponsored ads. Website owners put those ads on their site to receive income from people that click on them. The ads are placed on the site through Google's code and will be relevant to the content on your site. It is a great way to add a stream of income to your site that does not cost you anything. All you have to do, as a website owner, is get traffic to your website, we won't be touching on that subject here, I will be adding useful infornation like driving traffic to your website very soon. So how do you get started you say!? Visit Google Adsense and sign up for the program. Once you have completed the form and submitted and verified the account you will be taken to the home page section of Adsense. What you want to do is select "Adsense Setup". You will see three selections, one being Adsense For Content, Adsense For Search and Refferals. For simplicity sake we will stick with Adsense For Content. Once you have selected this you will see two options for what type of ads you want on your website. One is Ad Unit and the other Link Unit. The Ad Unit is most likely something you have seen before so lets stick with that. In the drop down box you have a few choices, for now just make sure "Text ads only" is selected, and click Continue. This next section is where you can format how the ad will display on your website. So take some time here to match the colors, that way if it looks more like the them of your site, then the more likely people will click on it, hence the opportunity for you to make money online. In the format section, you can select from the dropdown box which type of layout you want for your ad, banner style, skyscraper(vertical) or square. Then after that you fill in your colors. Click Continue. Choosing channels can be a great way to track the progress of your campaign. You can tell which pages are working better than others, maybe because of the placement of the ads on the site or the content. So click the "Add new channel" link and a pop up box will open. Type in the a unique name to track these ads, for now you can put "test" and click OK. Now you can track the ads for test on that page of your website. If the channel is not already under the "Your selected channels" section than click the "add" link next to the channel, then click Continue. This next part is easy depending on your experience with HTML. Where it say "Your Adsense code", select all the code and past it where you would like the ads to display in your site. That's it. If you have no idea about HTML, there are some great instructions there, just click "Code Implementation Guide". Google will explain to you how to implement the code into your site. So that is basically it in a nutshell of one way to make money online.
