The collectors of diecast cars love the retro models of cars. One of the most famous car models is the Mach 5 from the Speed Racer series. The little car became famous around the world through the Japanese animated series that began in the 60s. For almost 20 years the adventures of the Mach 5 entertained both children and adults from all over world. Today the cars from the series are available at different scales and different models and colors. However the Mach % remains the most wanted one in its original white color. Available in blue, yellow, black and white, the car is reproduced at the popular 1:18, 1:32, 1:43, 1:55 and 1:64 scales. The animated series was turned in comic books, video games, and even a movie. It was released on DVD and had 86 episodes created since 1966. Because of the on going action and the rivalry between the members of the same family, the series was enjoyed by children and adults equally. The Mach 5 which is one of the main characters of the series became so famous that even a real car was made by Corvette. The car was also used in the movie made after the animated series. Because of the huge success of the show all the characters and cars reproduced by toy companies became favorite toys for a lot of children and collectible items for a lot of collectors. When the car was reproduced first it was in a limited edition that vanished from the shelves in a very short period of time after being released to the public. Today the miniature models available at different scales still make the little famous car a desired toy or collectible. The main characters, Speed, Spritle, Trixie and Pops are still the favorite toys for a lot of children especially boys who love racing. Of course the features of the car make it a wonder car that anybody would like to have especially in reality. Even the little toys have rubber wheels, doors that open, tilting seats and front wheels that steer via the steering wheel. All the fantastic elements from the show are recreated in the toy versions. Things like the opening section for the bird-like flying probe, the periscope that rises, the protruding front saw blades and the power jacks are all at their places. However the best features of the car are the button from the steering wheels. Named from A to G they have different functions like belt tires that position themselves over its regular tires, so it can climb abrupt mountains; a bullet-proof Deflector shield that closes the cockpit of the Mach 5 or an ultra powerful Hi-Beam. All these features along with others like the possibility of turning the car into a submarine or having a radio controlled robot that can send messages where Speed wants to send them, make this one of the most wanted cars on earth. Everybody can dream at this wonderful car, but only a few would have the courage to drive it the way Speed does.
