Amid a sea of contemporary dancers and a bare trickle of those who specialize in hip hop and/or ballroom, the judges finally arrived at the 20 best potentials for So You Think You Can Dance season 4.

Here are the ten women out to contend for the fourth edition of the reality dance show:

The first of two differently-spelled Chelsea/ies is 23-year old Chelsea Traille. She graduated from the University of Texas, is a jazz and contemporary dancer, who lists among her credentials, having danced for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks during the 2006-2007 season.

Twenty-year old Katee Shean is a Chapman College student juggling a double major in dance and leadership. Meanwhile, Kherington Payne is another jazz and contemporary twinkle toes, who is on the verge of finishing high school. She is an avid soccer player and is from California.

Next up is an 18-year old with a name that elicits memories of either a retired former tennis bombshell. Kournti Lind from Minnesota also specializes in jazz and contemporary dance, training at her mother’s dance studio since the tender age of three.

Jessica King from South Carolina goes to Coastal Carolina University, teaches dance locally and is also a contemporary dance specialist. One of this season’s minority, the other Chelsie (Hightower) is one of just two female ballroom dancers to make the top 20. Her specialty is Latin dance and she was a finalist at the Worlds in 2005.

Twenty-five year old Susie Garcia is Chelsie Hightower’s fellow Latin dancer this season. And, like Chelsea Traille, Susie also danced in the NBA, spending six years with the Miami Heat organization. She has also performed on the Billboard Latin Music Awards and Latin Grammy Awards, and has also toured with Shakira.

Courtney Galiano is a 19-year old contemporary dancer (we did say they were in abundance this season) from the Big Apple. Another NBA morale booster on the sidelines, Courtney dances for the New York Knicks. She has also appeared in Kat De Luna’s video for “Whine Up.”

No joke but our next contender is a 20-year old by the name of Comfort Fedoke. Originally from Nigeria, she is now a hip hop dancer from Texas, who has been a featured performer fore the past few years on Dallas Dance Club 21.

Last but not least, Rayven Armijo is this season’s oldest female contender. She is both a contemporary and a ballet dancer from California, who also mentors young kids in her area.
