Although pointed and designer shoes look quite stylish and attractive, they can often result in blisters and chronic foot pain. This is the reason why it is better to invest in footwear, which is both comfortable, stylish and does not pose a serious threat to your ankle and legs.

Try asking any woman about their opinion on high-heeled shoes and stilettos and most probably, the answers will be given in oohs and aahs. Yes, that is perfectly true. Women, all over the world, love to strut around in their high-heeled shoes. However, chances are that most of these women are also aware of the consequences of wearing a high-heeled shoe for longer periods at a stretch.

Foot injuries affect a large percentage of people every year, for the simple reason that they are not wearing the right kind of footwear. It is surprising to note that most of these individuals refuse to acknowledge the problem or do something about their back, knee or foot pain until the situation turns serious.

Most of the people who wear shoes are only concerned about the style, heel, and comfort factor of the shoe. Although, a shoe may seem extremely comfortable, it is possible that the individual ends up withering in foot, back or knee pain later on.

Several studies done recently have revealed that different styles of shoe can have different effect on the feet. High-heeled shoes or shoes, which do not allow enough space for the foot to breathe, end up laying more stress on the toes and ankle joints. This problem may look like quite a minor one to some individuals, however it can have serious repercussions on an individual in the long run.

Wearing the wrong kind of footwear for a considerably longer period can have serious repercussions on an individual, resulting in chronic pain. People, often complain of joint and knee pain, as they grow older. Nevertheless, they fail to realize that this pain has finally surfaced itself, as they had been wearing the right kind of footwear since a long time.

It will not be justified to say that only women who are affected by wearing the wrong kind of shoe. Men too are reported to be suffering from chronic foot and back pain, courtesy their wrong kind of footwear. Men’s shoes, which are narrower in the front, are generally the main culprits for causing bunions and hammertoes in men.

As men advance towards old age, their bones start deteriatoing, which may lead the arches in the foot to lose support. In such situations, it is best to avoid both high heels and flats. The feet need ample support in form of footwear, which can help to give balance to the feet and protect the arches as well.

Most of the people fail to understand that there are a lot of muscles and tendons located in our feet. In case, an individual is not able to get enough support for the feet in the form of right footwear or in case, these leg muscles and tendons get stretched, pinched or twisted by uncomfortable footwear, it can lead to chronic foot pain. Some footwear companies even manufacture shoes, which are specially designed to ease an individual of their foot pain and make their shoe-shopping experience a pleasant one.
