After last week’s challenge on Hell’s Kitchen where the chefs were given the chance to create their own three course dinner menus, it was Louross who bid farewell to the competition. Tonight as the competition continues, the two teams are finally merged into one. Season 3 winner Rock Harper also returns to the show to give some advice to the remaining chefs. After the elimination last week, the chefs are blindfolded and taken to The London West Hollywood, which is Ramsey’s new restaurant, where the winner for this season will be working. Ramsey announces the merging of the two teams and calls some heavily build men with briefcases containing $ 250,000 to remind the chefs what’s on the line and to further inspire them to work harder. For today’s challenge, the chefs are assigned to create a delicious and innovative dish. Matt gets veal, Christina gets sea bass, Bobby gets duck, Petrozza gets chicken, Jen gets beef and Corey gets chicken. Most of the chef does a good job, except for Bobby, whose duck turns out to be tough and Corey with her nothing spectacular lobster soup. Jen wins the competition and her rib eye dish lands into Ramsey’s menu. She also wins a plane ticket to Vegas to have a dinner with Rock Harper. She chooses Corey to go with her. The two meet Rock Harper in his restaurant, where he gave important notes on how to impress Ramsey. Meanwhile, those who are left have to spend a day unloading trucks. Because of the grueling manual labor, Matt has finally lost his mind. He’s puttering and acting like a mentally retarded. Now that the chefs are working as one team, Ramsey assigns them on their own stations. Matt and Christina, who have been arguing the whole day, are forced to work together to cook the meat. As the kitchen opens, Jen immediately takes charge, and starts sending perfect risotto dishes. Petrozza on the other hand, is having a hard time on his appetizers. But despite of the few mistakes, they still manage to send half their appetizers in half an hour. Because of Matt’s unstable state, he starts to mess things up in the meat station. Meanwhile, Ramsey caught Christina cooking two different types of meat in one pan, which is totally unacceptable. Because of Matt’s behavior, Ramsey orders him to go back to the dorm together with Jen who burned some rice. Ramsey then decides to close the kitchen after having enough head ache from the chefs. For the elimination, Ramsey tells them to choose two people and the chefs pick Matt and Christina. Corey on the other hand, tells Ramsey that she also deserves to be eliminated and the latter says that he’s more than happy to do so.
