Making big strides in the industry is UK R&B singer Makeida. She has surpassed records in her new and upcoming career making her one of the newest and fastest growing R&B singers today. Makeida's MySpace page has received over 360,000 visitors per month. As a result; Makeida has and she has been noted in MySpace news recently for her consistent success.

Makeida currently has over 3.7 million fans on MySpace – a huge record number for major artists, let alone unsigned (independent artists like Makeida).

Makeida has reached the maximum number of friends (currently 5,000 per account) 3 times on Facebook. Fans are appealing to Facebook to increase the number of Makeida’s friends on Facebook. Facebook say that there are currently only 1,000 members on Facebook who have ever reached the maximum number of friends… well I guess Makeida is one of the 1,000 out of the 50 million users on Facebook!

In a recent interview with MySpace about online engagement with fans Makeida stated;

"…I am constantly engaging with my audience. One of the things I do is write weekly notes on both MySpace and Facebook. My little notes get read by hundreds every week... so that helps encourage MySpace/Facebook users to come back to the site."

Makeida is bringing in new pressures for other powerful female acts like; Beyonce, Ciara, Rihanna, Keyshia Cole and many other female artists. In a quote from Makeida’s interview in Essence Magazine Makeida said; I am not intimidated by other beautiful women. The world is a big place and we should all celebrate instead of hating on one and other.

Well, that clears that up!

Her new album "Unleashed" is scheduled to launch in early February 2009. Makeida first music video (HE GOT IT) will be released across music video broadcasters on October 7^th. Insiders have predicted huge success. The million dollar question is can Makeida have the same impact on main stream media as she does on the internet?? Time will tell…but we are all routing for her to really blow us all away!

While this is far from the last we have seen of the stunning R&B superstar; she is growing greatly in her rise to the top. The hits are big; her voice is strong and she is destined for success.
